I won't be posting for a while due to some family issues. My husband is in the Army and will be leaving again. I can't really say when, where, or why. I'm sure you can figure it out all by yourself if you just think hard enough. I'll be spending every free moment with Casey before he goes. As soon as I am available, I will start finishing Falling. My goal is to have it published by Christmas time. I'm going to need something to keep my occupied when I'm all alone again. I just wanted to give everyone an update since I've been a giant slacker lately! Just a lot on my plate lately...
I've been ignoring you all and I'm sorry but I have been on a reading binge this past week. I think I read like 8 books this week alone. Yeah... sad I know! I just keep reading one after the other and they were all so good that I couldn't make myself stop.
I've only stopped today because it was Pamper Nikki Day. You know, lunch with my bestie, massage, and then mani/pedi to top it off. Can't say that I wanted to read more than I wanted to spoil myself because that would just be a flat out lie. It's a toss up between beauty and books for this little girl!
I will be posting reviews soon of all the ones I read since my last book blog review. Lets see... I read a lot of Abbi Glines (Because of Low/Vincent Boys/Vincent Brothers) & I read Morgan Rice's book Turned. It seems like I'm missing one but I can't for the life of me remember off hand.
BTW... totally off topic and all - my cat is tearing up two of my dogs. You would think the one who is completely deaf and partially blind wouldn't be so bold but you would be wrong. I'm pretty sure she is the bad ass in the group. She loves to mess with that cat and he doesn't hesitate to slap her in the head. I think he enjoys it more than she does to be honest. Big ol' mean kitty cat beating up on that poor lil' handicapped dog - he should be ashamed but nope... he's chilling on the coffee table waiting for round two! The two big ones are napping; enjoying the AC I'm sure. The little boy one, well he is just trouble to begin with. Hence the husband mending the fences out side because they broke out this morning and decided to go on an adventure! Thank goodness the neighbor found them because they had went down the road and into the pond and took a little dip to cool themselves off I guess. She found them between that neighbors house and her house so she kept them occupied until Casey could climb over the fence and toss them back over. You might be asking why not just drive down the road and ask the neighbor if we can be let into their back pasture but it's simple really. Last time they were caught chasing chickens after their little skinny dipping adventure (this was I know a year ago, but I'm not gunna chance it). We live in a small po-dunk town and people aren't opposed to shooting a stray dog or two causing trouble! The only reason I didn't beat their little asses this morning was one because it was 8am on a Saturday and two because the deaf/blind one was missing! Yeah, mama wasn't too happy to only count 3 little runaways at the crack of dawn on her day off. I left Casey to clean up that mess while I ran back to the house and prayed that Kennedy was okay. All I could think of was the worst possible things and I'm pretty sure I suffered a mild heart attack. Especially when I got in the back yard and she was no where to be seen. I lost it then but luckily I found her curled up in her dog house sleeping like a baby. Thank goodness she is deaf and must of missed them breaking out or else I would hate to know what might of happened. The other three little bastard kids are seriously in the dog house from here on out. The invisible fence will be going back up as well as a fort knox security of stones/railroad ties/stakes etc to hold their butts in our yard!
Okay... so anyway as you can tell I've been a busy little bee this week so I'm behind on my blogging. I am hosting a get-together tonight so I don't know when I'll be up and running again. Hold on and wait for me though because I'll be back in no time and ready to share plenty of reviews with you!
Louisiana & loving it!
I'm home in Louisiana for a few days spending time with my best friends and family. I hate the 10 hour drive but I love the feeling of being home. Nothing beats a day of shopping and lunch with my two best friends from jr high school or swinging my nieces around until we are dizzy. Seeing them for just a few minutes makes me realize how much I miss being so far away. Everytime I see my sister's little girls it's like they grew over night. They are taller and more mature looking - learning to talk and walk one visit and the next they are wearing big girl panties. I hate that I can't be around to watch them grow :( I have 10 neices and nephews but to be honest I do have a few favorites.
Plus, I am a huge dady's girl so I love getting spoiled for a few days while I visit. Just finished showing my mom how to use the kindle app for her ipad (shes dying to read my book) and in case I haven't said this before, but I HATE Apple Iphones and Ipad etc. They confuse the hell out of me and I end up wanting to toss them across the room! It probably would of been easier to upload my e-book to IBook store then it was to show her how to work that stupid Ipad. But on a good note I did get a nice home cooked meal - YUMMY :) Also had my nails painted by a 4 year old so you can just imagine how wonderful they look! I don't have two nails that are the same color but beautiful none the least.
Bridemaids shoes search was a bust! Went all over Baton Rouge looking for the right shoes but couldn't find a single pair. I did however get my measurements and ordered my dress so I can check that off the list. My best friend, Carrie, is getting married this November in New Orleans. CAN'T WAIT!!! Also want to give a little shout out to her fiance for his recent job!!! Whoop Whoop! Looks like I wont be the only one who is starting a new job this month. Got to hang out with my besties Carrie & Tiffany all day! I love how we can spend so much time apart and pick up right were we left off at. True friendship :D I can honestly say that I only have a handful of real friends and I woulnd't change that for anything. It's better to have Quality rather than Quanity.
Planning on spending tomorrow with my family while being as lazy as possible. I should be starting my job on Monday depending on my drug screening results. HR said that it should only take a few days so hopefully I will find out on Friday. For some reason the city on likes to start dates on Mondays. Weird. So if my results aren't in by then I will have to wait until the following Monday. I am excited to start my new job! But I am sad to know that my lazy days are over. No more sleeping late or reading all afternoon. I'll have to start waking up early and being productive... yay! But this just means that I will have more money to spend shopping! Gotta love that!
I had my interview today! Went better than great if you ask me! Over the phone she said I was more than over qualified for the position. During the interview we made small talk and she gave me a tour of the place. Then at the end she went over how the hiring works with the city and that I should hear something either way by Monday. She said, "Don't worry too much though, I like what I see thus far" *wink, wink* Seems like it would be the perfect job for me. A boss who isn't a bitch, another employee who is the "handyman" who won't be in my hair and then me, the receptionist. Its for the city's Arts and Activities center - which translates to: varies rooms, halls, and auditorium for rental to the general public. Easy-smeezy, right? I hope so. I am good with people so I can be a cute, smiling face that directs them around & shows them the venues & promotes our city! If you ask me, sounds drama free and stress free! Two of my favorite things in the whole wide world! I get to work on my own and help with creating flyers and advertising our beautiful little city :D
No nagging, drama-filled hags that make my life hell, No over-bearing, stuck-up snotty boss, & No stressful situations where the citizens are only coming to me to pay a fine, get our of jury duty, or reduce their criminal charges. I love my criminal justice field, don't get me wrong, but you can get burnt out real fast! On a happier note, I was looking at the classifieds and guess what I saw! The bitch formally known as my two-faced, degrading, loud-mouth boss (aka veterinarian i worked for) who over charges and under appreciates her staff and clients/patients all while stealing money from the company... yeah that one, has an ad in the paper for vet tech, receptionist, and kennel tech! I am not a brain surgeon and all but for a one doctor practice with one receptionist and one vet tech and three kennel workers is hiring for all positions I sense a walk out! HAHA... what goes around comes around! I don't like to bad mouth hence why I didn't drop any names but I really hate that woman. She not only degraded me in front of people on a regular basis but she insulted my husband and treated my pets like her own personal piggy bank. Needless to say, it made my day knowing she once again had another massive walk out of employees. When do you think she will realize its not the people working for her but the person running the ship? I know I should feel bad, but I'm sorry to say that I don't. I don't think I've ever hated someone as much as I hate that woman. When your job is to help animals and all you do is hurt them to make a profit, I personal find you sick in the head.
Few things in this world annoy me enough to rant to this extent but I would put animal abuse at the top of the list. Okay... all done for today's bitchfest. Wish me luck on my possible employment! I think this will be the perfect job to allow me to grow as a professional individual while still enjoying my career. Plus it would give me lots of time to work on writing :D
UPDATE: Rachel just called me and guess what! I GOT THE JOB!!!
