hopeless

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies...

That's what Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she's never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he's nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn't at all who he's been claiming to be. When the secrets he's been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky's life will change forever.

Add this one to the to-read list as well. I just finished and I gotta say my eyes are killing. Not because of any crying, which surprisingly I didn't do with this book, but because it's really long and I read it in one sitting. Yeah, I know, I should probably get a life but what's the fun in that? Reading is way cooler because I can go anywhere, be anyone, and do anything with just a flip of a page.    In case you don't know this is also the author of another fave book of mine called 'Slammed'. She is amazing and really writes books with depth. Everything means something in them and they are so touching. No the most realistic of the contemporary fiction young adult novels out there but it's still a good read. And like before I had this book mapped out way before the author gave any foreshadowing or hints. Sometimes it would be nice if my brain would turn off so I could just be shocked and surprised by an outcome. Nonetheless it's an awesome book and you should totally go check it out when you get some free time. But like I said, it seemed really long because it took me all day to knock out. Side Note: reading is like a diet because I haven't touched anything since breakfast (10am in my world) and it's already 10pm. So yeah, not only are books way cool and take me on adventures but they make me skinner! Gotta love that, right? But seriously, now that my brain is fried and I am no longer distracted I am going to binge! Commence raiding the fridge...

Why do i do this to myself?

Why do I do this to myself? Both of these authors crawl under my skin! Don't get me wrong, their books are great, but OMG they piss me off to no end! After telling myself over and over again I would not read the second book in the 'Avoiding' series here I am posting a blog about buying it. It just kept staring back at me on amazon just taunting me... ahhh! I'm pretty sure I am going to pull my hair out reading that one because I was nearly bald after the last book. Her characters just make me want to reach into the pages and shake their stupid asses. The the author who wrote, 'Taking Chances' has a new one out that I kept trying to avoid but somehow got sucked into it's tempting little grasp. Both series are a love-hate relationship with me. But, I buy the books, I read the books, I review the books & I blog about the books so that has to mean something right? Both of these books that I am going to link below are the kind that you want to hate but you just secretly love the torment they put you through. Well, wish me luck because I'm biting the bullet and reading them.

From Ashes

When Cassidy Jameson's best friend Tyler took her to Texas with him when he left for college, she was expecting his cousin, their new roommate, to be a Stetson-wearing cowboy since his family owned a ranch; not this incredibly gorgeous guy with a husky Southern drawl that seemed to make the world stop whenever she looked at him. Because of her past, she's only ever trusted two men in her life, Tyler and her dad whom passed away when she was six. But there's something about Gage that draws her to him in a way she can't explain, only problem? He's always telling Tyler that he doesn't want Cassidy living there and sees her as nothing more than his little sister.

Gage Carson was excited his cousin Tyler was coming to live with, and go to college with him. When he'd called to ask if he could bring his friend Cassi with him, Gage didn't care. Gage had heard about this mysterious friend since they were kids and felt like he already knew her. Nothing would prepare him for watching her jump out of Ty's Jeep though. Not only was Cassi the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, but there was something about her that within seconds of meeting her, made Gage want to protect her, and make her his. Too bad Tyler made it a point to remind Gage on a daily basis that he was dating her and she was completely off limits.

For a year and a half, Gage and Cassidy dance around their feelings for each other as Tyler continues to keep them apart; until one day Tyler unknowingly pushes her right into Gage's arms. With Tyler unable to keep lying to them, they finally start a relationship both have been craving since their first meeting. But when an accident and disaster sends her back to Tyler and California, will Cassidy be able to come face to face with the demons from her past to live a life she and Gage deserve; or will the fact that she once again ran to Tyler be the final push that ends Cassidy and Gage for good?
